Rockcastle County Schools is proud to announce that Ms. Susan Coffey, a dedicated educator at Mt. Vernon Elementary, has been named one of the top three elementary school teachers in the state as part of the 2026 Kentucky Teacher Achievement Awards.

Selected from 753 nominees, Ms. Coffey earned this honor through her exceptional teaching, dedication to student success, and innovative classroom practices. She will advance to the final round for 2026 Kentucky Teacher of the Year, with the winner announced during a ceremony in Frankfort on October 7, 2025.
