Rockcastle County Schools is proud to celebrate the incredible achievements of our Gifted & Talented students, who recently attended the Center for Rural Development’s Technology Showcase alongside the Rockcastle Area Technology Center (RATC).
Their project, which explored quilting’s deep connection to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), highlighted how this cherished Kentucky heritage art form reflects creativity, design, and problem-solving across generations. Students showcased how traditional quilting patterns can inspire modern innovation through technology, design, and artistic expression.
Their hard work and creativity were recognized in a big way — earning the group the Best Art Presentation Award! 🏆
Through this project, students demonstrated how tradition and technology can work hand-in-hand to inspire the next generation of thinkers, makers, and artists. Rockcastle County Schools commends these students for their innovation, collaboration, and dedication to celebrating Kentucky’s heritage through the lens of modern learning.
