The Rockcastle County Schools Technology Department (RockIT) is proud to announce the completion of its districtwide elementary classroom technology upgrade, made possible through a nearly $1 million USDA Rural Utilities Service (RUS) Distance Learning Grant.

As part of this transformational project, every elementary classroom across Rockcastle County Schools, along with the district's specialized Hospital Classroom, has been equipped with new interactive technology designed to enhance teaching and learning.

The upgrade includes the installation of 106 new 75-inch interactive flat panels featuring built-in computers and integrated video conferencing capabilities. These state-of-the-art displays provide educators with powerful tools to create engaging, collaborative, and interactive learning experiences for students.

To further support instruction, every classroom also received a new document camera, wireless keyboard, and wireless mouse, giving teachers greater flexibility to move throughout the classroom while delivering instruction.

"This investment ensures that our youngest learners—and our students facing medical challenges—have daily access to cutting-edge tools that make learning more interactive, inclusive, fun, and impactful," said the RockIT Department.

The classroom technology upgrade is part of Rockcastle County Schools' ongoing commitment to providing innovative learning environments that prepare students for success in an increasingly digital world. By equipping every elementary classroom with modern instructional technology, the district is expanding opportunities for student collaboration, creativity, and engagement while supporting educators with the tools they need to deliver high-quality instruction.

Rockcastle County Schools extends its appreciation to the USDA Rural Utilities Service for investing in rural education and helping make this significant project possible. The completion of this initiative marks another milestone in the district's continued efforts to provide students and staff with the resources needed to support Rocket Learners on their journey to becoming Rocket Leaders.
