Tonight, we invite the Rockcastle County Schools community to come together to honor Mt. Vernon Elementary School teacher, Mr. Larry Lee, and his 25 years of dedicated service to our students and schools.

At 6:00 PM, please turn on your porch lights and leave them on all night as a symbol of our love, gratitude, and appreciation for a friend who has truly lit the way for so many. 💡

As we honor Mr. Lee’s incredible legacy, we ask that you pray for him and his family during this time. ❤️

RES Dismissal Update | 12-09-25

Due to the ongoing situation on U.S. 25, the following bus routes will not run this afternoon out of an abundance of caution. This decision ensures that no students are dropped off at home unsupervised.

Bus Routes Not Running Today:

Flat Gap Route
James Poynter – Bus #1901

Lambert Road Route
Keith Mink – Bus #1303

All high school, middle school, and Roundstone Elementary students affected by these routes will be held at Roundstone Elementary School. Parents and guardians may pick up their students at RES.

All other schools will dismiss as normal. RES parent pickup will dismiss as normal, and all RES bus routes not listed above will run as normal.

If transportation for your student cannot be arranged, please call Roundstone Elementary School at (606) 256-2235 so alternate arrangements can be made.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to prioritize the safety of our students. Please monitor official Rockcastle County Schools communication channels for updates.
