Welcome to May!
The next eight days are some of the most important days of the year as we begin both Advanced Placement exams and our Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) for Grades 10 and 11.
Please make plans to be here at school every day. It is especially important to be on time.
Get plenty of rest, charge up your Chromebooks, and let's go BLUE!

Seniors presented their Portrait of a Rocket in April, and every single student left us impressed. They have all had different experiences that have shaped who they are as young adults and learners, and we were proud of every one of them. Enjoy some of the pictures we were able to take .

Today is National School Principals' Day, and we are so thankful for the best: Principal Brandy Smith and Assistant Principals Mike McNabb and Tom Greer! They are Rocket leaders who inspire and support all of us!

Students in AP Precalculus visited EKU today for an AP review organized by Advance Kentucky. Students received test strategies and reviewed content--all presented by AP experts.

Our seniors have a full calendar of events coming up in May, kicking off with AP testing. It seems like just last week they were coming in on the first day of senior year.

The RCHS Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy Chapter had the privilege of recognizing some truly incredible educators by delivering Chick-Fil-A gift cards to teachers who have made a lasting impact in our school community.
These teachers go above and beyond every day. They are mentors, encouragers, and inspire students to grow into their best selves. This small token of appreciation is just a reminder that their hard work does not go unnoticed.
Thank you to the educators who lead with heart and make a difference every single day. 🚀

Congratulations to our 2026 Governor's Scholars Lucas Saylor and Callie Thacker! These students will participate in the GSP six-week program on one of three college campuses this summer: Centre College, Morehead State, or Murray State.
The Governor’s Scholars Program is a summer residential program for outstanding high school students in Kentucky who are rising seniors. In order to participate in the Program, students must be nominated by their high schools and then compete on a state-wide level. Selection for the program is highly competitive, with an application process similar to that of prestigious colleges and universities.

Wednesday was a big day for the Class of 2026--it was the day we distributed caps and gowns! Seniors who were not present during homeroom can pick theirs up in the office.
We are still waiting on late orders and will announce when those are in. MRO students may want to verify their cap and gown order has arrived before stopping by.

The RCHS Honors Club Induction Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, beginning at 5:30. Please see the flyer for location and other details.

Portrait of a Rocket presentations take place this week! We welcome senior parents to share this presentation with their graduate. See the flyer for more information.

Congratulations, Alex Abrams, on earning your JROTC industry certification!

For the recent National School Librarian Day we want to say how thankful we are for our media specialist Mrs. Joanie Lake!
We also want to congratulate three seniors who signed with Georgetown College to continue cheering: Chloe Taylor, Brookelynn Dunn, and Chelsea Cox!

During Assistant Principals Week we want to express our appreciation for the two best: Mr. Tom Greer and Mr. Mike McNabb! Thank you for everything you do for RCHS!

We had a great day at EKU today! Taking students on college visits is the highlight of the week. #EKU #RocketLearners2RocketLeaders
