Rockcastle County Schools 4th grade GATE students enjoyed an incredible day of learning and exploration at Berea College! ⭐️
Their visit began at the Berea College Planetarium, where they experienced an immersive lesson on the Earth, Moon, and Sun.
At the Yahng Discovery Center, students dove into hands-on STEM learning—using real microscopes to investigate live organisms in water samples and experiencing what it feels like to think and work like true scientists.
They also toured the Loyal Jones Appalachian Center, where they gained a deeper understanding of the cultural and environmental history of the Appalachian region.
A special shoutout goes to our RCHS Senior GATE students, who played an essential role in the day’s success by helping rotate groups and organize activities. Their leadership and support made the experience even more meaningful.
Our students returned inspired, curious, and full of new knowledge—a fantastic day of learning beyond the classroom!🚀
