Ninth graders in Mrs. Allene Cornelius's English classes were inspired by the words of Isaac Asimov: “Engineering is the art of the possible. It is applying skill and creative thinking to solving the world’s biggest challenges.”
First students were given an image that only depicted seemingly random lines and shapes. Then they created their own vision that emerged from the original drawing. Their work can be seen below...
Such creativity and talent on display!

Today is Monday, September 8, and it is already looking to be a very busy week at RCHS!
Here are today's announcements:
*Approximately 350 students do not have an updated online registration. This means addresses and phone numbers have not been updated for this school year. Parents/guardians may contact Mrs. Sherri McKinney for Parent Portal login information and password reset : sherri.mckinney@rockcastle.kyschools.us.
*Tomorrow is HIGH ATTENDANCE DAY throughout our region, and we are competing with other schools for the highest attendance for the day. Students at school for the full day on Tuesday will have the chance for prizes and gift cards during our Friday Celebration. Also, the grade with the highest attendance participation will receive ice cream compliments of YSC. And that is reason enough to come to school!!
*RCHS food drive begins today! This is sponsored by Honors Club, FCCLA, and YSC. Today's theme is Meal Maker Monday. Tomorrow is Two-Can Tuesday. See the flyer for more details.
*Any homeroom that hits the 20 item or $20 goal (or combination!) tomorrow will be able to go outside and get some outdoor walking time. It is supposed to be a beautiful day, so make it happen, Rockets! We hope to see all of our homerooms outside tomorrow.
Have a great day!
