🚌 Bus Evacuation Drills
Rockcastle County Schools will conduct bus evacuation drills on Thursday, October 1st. As part of the drills, RCMS and RCHS will dismiss at 2:57 PM.
These drills help ensure our Rocket Learners know what to do in the event of an emergency while riding the bus. Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to make safety a priority across our district! 🚀

The Somerset Community College Roadshow rolled into the Rockcastle Area Technology Center today!
High school and middle school students had the opportunity to explore a variety of career and college pathways, from skilled trades and advanced manufacturing to healthcare, technology, education, and more.
Students got a firsthand look at these fields through hands-on activities, equipment, and real-world examples while also learning about dual credit, financial aid, scholarships, and admissions.
A big thank you to Somerset Community College for bringing these opportunities directly to our Rocket Learners and helping them explore what their future could look like! 🚀

Ms. Martin’s science class at MVES celebrated All In for Ag Week with a tasty lesson all about dairy!
Students learned about dairy products and where they come from before sampling cheese and using their senses to describe how it looked, smelled, felt, and tasted. It was a fun way for our Rocket Learners to explore the connection between agriculture, science, and the foods on our tables every day! 🐄🧀

Through the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program, in collaboration with KEDC, our Rocket Learners are getting even more opportunities to explore agriculture during All In for Ag Week!
Students are sampling fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the week, and RES students will take their learning a step further with hands-on vegetable pizza-making led by KDE State Chef and local resident Chef Shannon Stevens.

Today, Ms. Julie Asher stopped by Ms. Kandace’s and Mr. Cameron’s classes at MVES to teach students about gardening and farming. Students explored the difference between the two, learned what plants need to grow, and designed their very own dream garden or farm!
A big thank you to Ms. Asher for sharing her knowledge and helping our Rocket Learners connect agriculture to the world around them! 🌾

RCHS Football Update:
Tonight’s football game at Madison Southern High School (MSHS) will resume at 7:30 PM.
Due to multiple activities taking place on the MSHS campus, parking will be limited, and heavy traffic is expected until approximately 7:00 PM. Gates will not open until 7:00 PM. P
Rockcastle fans should park in the designated yellow-marked parking area shown on the map and enter at the location marked with the blue dot. There will be no admission charge at the gate.
Please plan accordingly, allow extra time when arriving, and use caution around the MSHS campus.
