Shout out to the RCHS student leaders who spent the day guiding activities and creating memorable learning experiences for Mount Vernon Elementary Kindergarten students. We’re grateful to Dr. Watson and the EKU Division of Natural Areas for their continued partnership and support!

Update on Bus 1601: Injuries are very minor, consisting of scrapes and bruises. All students have been transported by bus to the ER.

Bus 1601 from Rockcastle County Schools was involved in a bus accident. All students are safe, with only minor injuries reported. Out of an abundance of caution, all students will be transported to the ER for evaluation. Parents may pick up their students directly from the ER.

Update (April 28, 2025) — The soft lockdown at Rockcastle County High School has been lifted. The medical situation has been resolved, and normal activities have resumed.

April 28, 2025 — Rockcastle County High School is currently on a soft lockdown due to a medical situation.

Several members from our district and community came together today for core team planning with the NCFL Family Learning Community team. We are working to strengthen family engagement and support the journey from Rocket Learners to Rocket Leaders. 🚀
